Transfer of ISO Certification

If your organization already holds ISO certification from another certification body, you don't need to start over with a fresh Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit to move to Company Certification International (CCI). A transfer audit reviews your existing certification and, where it's valid and in good standing, carries it forward under CCI's accreditation instead.

Why organizations transfer their certification

• Their current certification body's service, pricing or turnaround no longer suits them

• A merger, acquisition or change of ownership brings certified sites under a new group
• Their previous certification body has stopped operating, lost accreditation, or withdrawn from a market

How a transfer audit works

Transfer follows the same underlying framework other accredited bodies use for transfers between certification bodies (IAF MD 2). Before scheduling anything, CCI reviews:

• Your current certificate: standard, scope, accreditation body, issue and expiry dates, and certification-cycle stage (initial, surveillance or recertification)
• The reason for transfer and confirmation your current certification body has no unresolved suspension, withdrawal or major nonconformity against you
• Your most recent audit report and any open corrective actions

Depending on where you are in your three-year certification cycle, the transfer may be completed with a short transfer audit rather than a full Stage 1 and Stage 2 — CCI confirms which applies once we've reviewed your current certificate and audit history.

What we need from you to start

• A copy of your current, valid certificate
• Your two most recent audit reports (surveillance or recertification, as applicable)
• Confirmation of any open nonconformities and their corrective actions
• Written confirmation from your current certification body of your certification status (where requested)

Accreditation route

A transfer keeps you on whichever accreditation route you choose going forward — either CCI's own IAR-112 accreditation, or, where your buyer requires it, certification coordinated through our MRA-recognized partner route. Frequently asked questions

Will transferring reset our three-year certification cycle? No — a transfer normally carries forward your existing cycle position rather than restarting it, subject to CCI's review of your current certificate and audit history.

Can we transfer mid-cycle? Yes, transfers can happen at any point in the three-year cycle; what changes is whether a short transfer audit or a fuller audit is needed.

What if our current certification body has suspended or withdrawn our certificate? A transfer isn't available for a suspended or withdrawn certificate — in that case you'd apply as a new applicant with a full Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit.
